Nina’s Story: ‘I learned so much more than I could ever imagine

Nina attended her first conference in 2008. This is what she said afterwards.

I would like to thank The Word Guild for giving me a full bursary in order to attend the 2008 retreat in Guelph. It has changed my life. I will never be the same again and have been able to share this with my daughter in Calgary, who is so happy for me… It has been an honour and such an amazing learning experience for me to have met so many incredible people and to be among like minds. I am still on a high and although I know that in doing God’s work we are faced with many obstacles, I now know that all I have to do is keep praying and believing that my path is truly in His hands.

The full course load was totally uplifting. I learned so much more than I could ever imagine. It certainly was an amazing conference! I would love to volunteer again at the next conference I attend. It was so uplifting and truly inspirational… It’s hard to improve or streamline something so close to perfection. Just continue the momentum with whatever new ideas, thoughts, issues, etc. arise in the coming year. With those people I encountered, I heard only positivity and felt a peacefulness and affinity that comes with knowing and being in such a place and space at such a moment in time.

It is my goal to become a member of The Word Guild in the future and to attend many more events. I have found my true writer’s calling and thank this fabulous retreat for the journey it took me on. I know that one day I will be able to give back and sponsor another writer in need, as The Word Guild has so generously done for me.

All the best for a super conference in 2009 and the warmth of great fellowship. May God continue to richly bless this Guild as we continue to support His Word.
